What It Does

Balayage is a French word meaning “to sweep.” While there are many methods to create this effect, they have one thing in common: highlights and lowlights are created by sweeping haircolor on the surface. This hand-painting technique creates softer highlights than typically created with foils, because there is a transition from non-colored to colored areas of the section. Whether long hair or short, the results provide more natural, believable options for the client. Redken has developed a unique paddle to assist in creating beautiful Balayage results.
